About the Piece

Breaking through Seattle's grey skies and the survivalist approach with which we often face the day, "Sunward Yawn" stands as a vibrant beacon of hope and renewal. This large-scale 3D soft sculpture mural, with its bold colors and blooming flowers, bursts through rocky ground, encouraging us to plant seeds for days, months, and generations to come.

The soft, tender textures of the sculpture remind us that healthy growth requires vulnerability, humility and responsiveness. As the flowers reach upward, stretching together towards the dawn, they symbolize the strength and solidarity needed to embrace new beginnings with fortitude.

"Sunward Yawn" provides an opportunity

to pause, reflect, and find inspiration

in the beauty of resilience.
